Schiefelbein Farms

The Schiefelbein family held their annual bull sale at a new location (their headquarters near Kimball, MN) and on a new date. The results were an overflow crowd for their new modern sale facility and a record-breaking sale.

The top bull, Lot 30, sold for $10,000 to Troy Becker, Viking, MN and Joe Wagner, Brandon, MN. He was a black Balancer II (three-quarters Angus, one-quarter Simmental), sired by Mytty In Focus. He was homozygous polled and homozygous black and carried EPDs of BW +1.3, WW +51, Milk +23 and YW +92. His birth weight was 85 lbs., adjusted weaning weight of 944 lbs., adjusted yearling weight of 1488 lbs., and an adjusted scrotal circumference of 47.7 cm.

The second high-selling bull, Lot 98, sold for $9,250 to Billy Hall of Ratcliff Ranches, Vinita, OK. He was sired by GW Lucky Man 644N (Simmental) and out of a registered Angus daughter of Sitz Alliance 6595. He had a 90-lb. BW, 820-lb. WW and a 1,375 lb. YW. His EPDs were BW +2.8, WW +63, Milk +24 and YW +102.

Lot 148 was the high selling Angus bull going to Craig and Gary Jorgenson, Arco, MN for $8,500. He was sired by Sitz Upward 307R and out of a Genetics by Design 049 daughter. A calving ease bull, his EPDs were BW +0.7, WW +61, Milk +35 and YW +109.

Two Angus bulls sold for $8,250 each. They were both sired by Sitz Upward 307R. Lot 144 went to Kevin Warne, Estelline, SD and Lot 145 went to Matthew Horner, Perham, MN.

Lot 205, an Angus bull with an 824-lb. weaning weight, sold for $8,000 to Dana Fitzgerald, Milesville, SD. He was a son of GAR Predestined.

Lot 149 sold for $8,000 going to Kevin Keckler, Eagle Butte, SD. He was a son of Sitz Upward 307R.

Entze Brothers, Golden Valley, ND, bought Lot 220, a son of Schiefelbein Rhino 318 for $8,000, and then took Lot 245 at $7,500. He was a son of Nichols Extra K205.

Five Angus bred heifers brought $4,000 each. Bruce Luepke of New Ulm, MN took two - Lot 267, a daughter of SS Objective T510 OT26 bred to SAV Final Answer 0035 and Lot 285, a daughter of Connealy Lead On carrying the services of Mytty In Focus.

Lot 266 sold to Kevin Warne, Estelline, SD. She was a Mytty In Focus daughter bred to SAV Final Answer for a March calf.

Memory Lane Farm, Hooper, NE, took Lot 269, a daughter of Rito 1I2 of 2536 Rito 6I6 bred to SAV Final Answer 0035.
