Ranch sorting finals held in Fort Worth

Ranch Sorting National Championships (RSNC) hosted the 2013 Priefert RSNC National Finals in Fort Worth, Texas, at the Will Rogers Memorial Center June 4-9, 2013. This outstanding event accommodated 6,734 teams, and had payouts of $600,000 with cash and prizes including three 4-Star Horse Trailers. The RSNC finals broke many records, and the growth in the sport continues to exceed expectations.

The Ranch Sorting World Series and Ranch Sorting Futurity and Maturity programs were both introduced this year and significantly contributed to the cash and prize lineup. The Futurities and Maturities had over 80 of the top sires in the industry sponsored and had over 120 horses competing for the $30,000 added cash! The World Series brought together over 200 of the best riders rated 1 through 6, all competing for the $40,000 added cash and 4-Star Horse Trailers!

Monday started with a line of trailers, all the way back to the main road, ready to check in. Tuesday kicked off the event with the beginning of the World Series Elimination Rounds and classes, Wednesday continued with lots of classes and teams, Thursday held the Futurity and Maturity competition as well as the first of two finals for contestants. It was a great night to see some fantastic sorting. American National Insurance held a Producer Meet and Greet Cocktail party before the Finals and it was a great way for the contestants and sponsors to meet each other and get to know everyone better! Friday, Saturday and Sunday saw lots more great sorting competition among friends within the RSNC family. Sunday was the finale with Cowboy Church by Open Range Ministries, more classes and Finals with tons of cash and prizes being awarded.



States Represented (36 in all): Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Wyoming, Canada and Mexico

Prizes Awarded: Horse trailers, buckles, saddles, Justin Boot Certificates, Iconoclast Boots, headstalls, saddle blankets, jackets, ribbons, Dennis Moreland spurs, B and W hitches, $40,000 cash in the World Series, $30,000 cash in the Futurity, $2,000 cash incentive in the lucky duck and another $1,000 Atwood hat incentive plus payouts of $381,863 (excluding saddles and other prizes).



Interesting Tidbits: Over 800 stalls were reserved before contestants arrived on location at Will Rogers Memorial Center, 6,734 teams in attendance from July 4-9, over 94 percent participated for the whole six days, and RSNC had payouts of $381,863 (excluding saddles and other prizes).

RSNC appreciates all who joined them in Fort Worth and helped them to make the finals a historical event. They hope to see all of this year’s contenstants plus many more at the 2014 RSNC National Finals.
