Women’s Ranch Rodeo Association World Finals set for Oct. 16-17 in Loveland, Colorado
October 7, 2015
The 11th Women's Ranch Rodeo World Finals begins Friday, October 16 thru Saturday, October 17 at the Ranch Events Complex in Loveland, Colorado.
The WRRA honors ranching heritage, showcasing the skills needed to manage cattle. Rodeo events are based on teams of four women on horseback and include sorting, roping, mugging (tying of three legs), branding, doctoring, and trailer loading, utilizing expert teamwork, experienced horsemanship and ranch-honed cow sense.
Competition includes four teams from Colorado, and others from Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, New Mexico, Wyoming—twelve Western states in all. An open Stray Gathering event Saturday morning adds extra action and fun. (Enter at 8:00 a.m., rope at 9:00.) A four-person event, entry fee runs $200 a team — cash only. A silent auction and mercantile offer tempting products and services. Auction proceeds support the WRRA scholarship fund.
With thanks to sponsor Total Feeds, Inc. of Texas. Tickets on sale now at Jax Mercantile, Loveland, or at the door at The Ranch starting the 16th or online at womensranchrodeo.com. $10 per performance or $25 for all three. Seating is limited.
