2011 NILE Gold Buckle Performance Horse Sale

On October 22, 2011, a beautiful fall day at the Rimrock Auto Arena at Metra Park, Billings, MT, a huge crowd sat in for the NILE Performance Horse Sale. There was a great selection of horses including finished barrel horses, rope horses, kids’ horses, and many good ranch horses.

Topping the sale was an outstanding barrel mare consigned by Brenda Seely and J. D. Carper of Lander, WY. This mare is a solid 1D/2D horse sired by Jays Dusty Tucker going back to Colonel Freckles and out of Little Stylish Chick by Chickito by Peppy San Badger. She sold to Brookman Rodeo Co. of Sidney, MT for $20,000.

The second high-selling horse was a very well-broke 14-year-old gelding, gentle for anyone to ride and could run barrels, poles, do breakaway, heel, and almost anything else you might need to do. Consigned by Trevor Lytle of Cody, WY, and selling to George McNeil of Chinook, MT, for $9,200, he was the right kind.

Following at $9,000 was a fancy bay gelding consigned by Mike Lyons of Polson, MT. Sired by Ima Diamond Dividend out of a Specially Great mare, this gelding had an extensive show record and was broke for anyone to ride. He sold to Eric Remy of Switzerland.

TR Quarter Horses of Lander, WY, consigned a true kids’ horse that had been used for breakaway, heeling, barrels and poles. This mare had a lot of friends at the sale. She sold for $6,750 to George McNeill of Chinook, MT.

Steve Ceroni of Lovell, WY, sold a beautiful palomino gelding at $6,200 to Donna Varner from Claysville, PA. The gelding, a Doc Tari/Doc Tom Tucker-bred horse was an all-around horse gentle for anyone to ride.
