2011 NILE ProRodeo gives back

BILLINGS, MT – This year the NILE ProRodeo will offer two featured performances to benefit worthy charitable causes during its four performance run. Friday night’s performance will be dedicated to breast cancer awareness with “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” presented by St. Vincent Health Care. Saturday night’s title performance will be the Wrangler Patriot Night as the NILE pays tribute to our fallen service men and women as well as those currently serving our country.

In 2006 the NILE and St. Vincent Healthcare teamed up to bring awareness to the reality of breast cancer and raise money to assist in breast cancer research and prevention through a feature rodeo performance titled “Tough Enough To Wear Pink.” Since that time, more than $20,000 has been raised and plans continue for this year to keep moving forward.

This year the NILE encourages all fans to wear pink during the third performance of the PRCA ProRodeo on Friday, Oct. 21, for “Tough Enough To Wear Pink Night” presented by St. Vincent’s Health Care. The NILE will pledge $1 for every rodeo ticket purchased while other businesses will be donating money towards the “Eva Project.” In addition to rodeo fans wearing pink, all contestants wearing pink that win each of their respective events will win an additional $100 “Pink Bonus” sponsored by the Yellowstone Surgery Center.

Again this year, Wells Fargo Bank is the sponsor a special set of kids chaps and vest handcrafted by B.J. Griffin of Powell, WY. The vest and chaps will be auctioned off prior to the rodeo Friday night in the NILE member hospitality room. All proceeds will be used to assist in St. Vincent’s Eva Project, a special project designed to provide free mammograms to limited income women over 40 who would not otherwise be able to afford mammograms.

The addition of the Wrangler National Patriot program is returning to the NILE for its second year. It was introduced by Wrangler during the 2009 NFR in Las Vegas. Its purpose is to provide funding and support for America’s wounded and fallen soldiers and their families. The NILE is honored to have the opportunity to salute our soldiers through the designation and ceremonies at the Saturday, Oct. 22, Night Rodeo performance of the NILE ProRodeo.

Tickets for each night start at $9.50 for general admission and may be purchased by contacting the Metra ticket office at 800-366-8538 or by visiting http://www.MetraPark.com. For more information contact the NILE office at 406-256-2495 or visit http://www.TheNile.org.
