Beef Cook Off goes online for best recipe

The 29th annual National Beef Cook Off will award the grand prize winner $25,000 and a trip to the November Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show in Washington, D.C. where the top recipe will be demonstrated on the show floor.

But this year, instead of the winner being determined through a cooking competition at the contest site, “We are conducting a national (online) search to find the best beef recipes,” said Sherry Hill, Cook Off program manager. Entrants can submit recipes in four categories through April 30:

Categories include: “The 5:30 PM Dinner Crunch”; “Retro Recipes Revived”; “Fuel Up With Beef”; and Stir Crazy Solutions.” In addition to the grand prize, one winner in each category will receive $3,000 in cash. To submit recipes, get more information about the categories and read the contest rules, go to http://www.beefcookoff.org.
