Benefit team roping planned for Vince Thompson

The Jacobs Livestock and Rodeo Company and the Broadwater Rodeo Association have scheduled a Vince Thompson Benefit Team Roping on July 31 at the Townsend Rodeo Arena in Townsend, MT.
The roping, which begins at 9 a.m., is being held to help Thompson with extensive medical expenses after he lost his right thumb in a serious roping accident.
Organizers said Thompson was sent to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA after the accident on a medivac plane and has had extensive surgeries.
The event features a drawpot with five partners for $125. All proceeds are being donated to help Thompson.
All team ropers and friends are encouraged to attend the benefit roping, organizers said.
Prizes include trophy saddles for the top header and heeler plus breast collars, Montana Silversmith spurs and many other additional prizes that have been donated by ranch and rodeo industry in the state.

In addition there is a silent auction during the event; friends of Thompson are encouraged to bring items.
Thompson and his family ranch in Broadwater County near Townsend, MT. He is a past president and director of the Broadwater Rodeo Association and has been working as a pickup man for the Jacobs Rodeo Company productions around the state.
