RAPID CITY, SD – The Black Hills Stock Show Foundation (BHSSF) recognized Soldiers from the South Dakota Army National Guard and Airmen from Ellsworth Air Force Base Tuesday, Feb. 1, for the eighth consecutive year during their Military Appreciation Day at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City.

Lynn Husman, president of the Black Hills Stock Show Foundation, invited 20 service members to a military appreciation luncheon to thank them for their service to our country.

“The luncheon is our way of acknowledging the service and sacrifices made by our military members,” said Husman. “All of the people in our industry and community are aware of the sacrifices our military makes so we can continue to do what we do here.”

Husman, the board of directors, and other Stock Show Foundation supporters listened as each Soldier and Airmen introduced themselves and told everyone in attendance where they grew up, what job they perform, where they work, and where they have been deployed in support of the Overseas Contingency Operation.

The Stock Show Foundation is a non-profit organization established to manage scholarship and grant programs benefiting the communities, the region and the people who support Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo and the livestock industry.
