Debora Moody, 52, Letcher, SD, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Avera Queen Of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD.
Debora Ann Moody was born Oct. 24, 1958, at Mitchell, to Harry and Shirley (Vermeulen) Northrup. She graduated salutatorian of her class at Letcher High School in 1976. Debbie attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell and graduated with a Medical Laboratory Technician degree. On June 30, 1978, she married Timothy Moody in Letcher. They lived on the family farm at Letcher since 1980. She worked as a Laboratory Technician in the Mitchell area for over 30 years.
Debbie enjoyed watching 4-H rodeo, high school rodeo, football, basketball and track. She loved playing cards, watching Hadley’s musical performances and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Debbie was loved very much, and will be missed by her parents, husband Tim, three children: Hilary (Brandon) Dexter of Milbank; Walter (Meghan) Moody of Mitchell; Hadley Moody of Letcher; five grandchildren: Jenna, Jacey and Logan Dexter and Addyson and Kooper Moody, her maternal grandmother, Wilma Aulner of Mitchell, two sisters, Darla (Doug) Schaefers of Huron, Diane (Joe) Grassel of Artesian, four brothers: Dennis (Kelly) Northrup of Aberdeen; Dean (Brigette) Northrup of St. Paul, NE; Darin (Jaime) Northrup of Garretson; Dana (Aggie) Northrup of Fredonia, WI; her mother-in-law, Jean Moody of Letcher, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, step grandfathers and father-in-law, Ralph Moody.
