The annual Miss Rodeo Wyoming Pageant will be held in Douglas Wyoming Aug. 17-21. This pageant, which challenges girls in the areas of Horsemanship, Appearance and Personality, is held in conjunction with the Wyoming State Fair.

The highlight of the Pageant is the Speech and Modeling Luncheon at the Best Western on Thursday, Aug. 19. The “Code of the West” will be the theme of this year’s luncheon. The Miss Rodeo Wyoming Pageant is celebrating 56 years of western tradition with eight young women from across Wyoming competing for the coveted jade crown.

Alta native, Erin Heffron, Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2010, will passing down her crown at the conclusion of the pageant. However, this pageant is not the end of her reign. Miss Heffron will travel to Las Vegas in December during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo to vie for the coveted title of “Miss Rodeo America.”
