Gill Red Angus Annual Bull and Female Sale

Doug Hogan
The top selling bull was Lot 129, LMG Gills Indeed 9018, a son of RED Towaw Indeed 104H and out of LMG Miss Dynette 3041. He sold to a syndicate group for $23,000. ABS then purchased a 1/4 interest in the bull from bull from this group of breeders.

Gill Red Angus was awarded the 2009 Pioneer Breeder of the Year and 2010 marks their 31st year in the Red Angus seedstock business. Six years ago Gill Red Angus sold only 50 bulls with a $1,000 lower average than this year and they sold three times as many bulls this year. The quality of the bulls were great.

Gill Red Angus takes pride in the mother cows, culls deep in the herd and only the best of the best get to stay on the ranch and raise a calf. This selection even goes deeper in their genetic program, finding herd sires that keep the everyday commercial breeder on top of his game and yet accommodate the purebred breeders as well.

This was just a very nice set of bulls and heifers that were offered and with the repeat and new buyers, there were numerous states represented as well as 135 registered buyers on hand. Gill Red Angus takes great pride in their customer service and they will try to place all of their customers’ feeder calves and replacement heifers into buyer hands. They travel the barns all fall and winter bidding on their customers’ calves and try to visit as many of their customers as time allows.
