Gill Red Angus Sale
March 17, 2009
The Gill family of Timber Lake, SD held their annual spring sale Feb. 3rd at the ranch. Buyers from 17 states were on hand for the sale of the good bulls and heifers – both at the ranch and watching on Superior Livestock Productions.
With 90 percent of the bulls being out of the Gill’s embryo transplant program, buyers had the chance to buy bulls that will produce an even set of feeder cattle and replacement females.
Topping the sale was Lot 62, LMG Gills Mulberry 8512-842, a very long, thick and stylish son of RED Fine Line Mulberry 26P, out of the great dam GMRA Estonia 626. This good bull sold to Erdman Red Angus of Leola, SD for $6,250.
The sons of WR MR Red Dawg 5335 were sought after again and the cross with the dam LMG Dynette 902 really worked. This mating produced a real set of useable bulls. Eight full brothers averaged $4,850 with three of these selling to Gene Korzan of Kimball, SD.
