Gompert Angus Complete Herd Dispersal

Scott Dirk

Over 100 registered buyers from 13 states were in the seats, on the phone or Internet to participate in the dispersal sale of the Terry and Connie Gompert Angus Herd on Oct. 26, 2011 in Verdigre, NE.

The Gompert Angus herd was started in 1991 and was a product of what Terry taught others – cattle that would perform strictly on grass and hay in a low-input paradigm. The herd is a blend of several time-tested programs with similar goals and proven gene pools. With the untimely passing of Terry in March, these cattle had seen no extra pampering; in fact the cows had run out on grass up until the few days before the sale when they were brought to town for the sale. They are truly easy keepers that will go on to make very productive mother cows and replacement females for their new owners.

Cow-calf pairs were in strong demand with Lot 36 topping the sale. TBC Ms 21X Fahren 826, a March 2008 daughter of DDA Fahren 21X, a maternal sister to DDA Emblazon 27C, sold with a heifer calf at side. She was selected by Kaman Dailey, Stapleton, NE at $4,000.

DDA Gretta 9113, a May 2009 daughter of DDA Dazeler 2E out of DDA Fahren 21X sold with a herd sire prospect at side. She was also selected by Kaman Dailey, Stapleton, NE at $3,900.
