Inlaws and Outlaws win team honors at Wilsall Ranch Rodeo

The Inlaws and Outlaws ranch team from Wilsall scored 34 points in six events to capture top honors at Wilsall Ranch Rodeo on Aug. 23. They were among ten teams from this region of Montana that competed in the tenth annual event which showcases the skills of working ranch cowboys and cowgirls. The Wilsall team scored 34 of a possible 60 points in the six events while competing for a purse of $2,400.

The winning team included Garrett Hamm, Tyler Hamm, Jessie Sarrazin and Jaime Wood which together won three of the five events including the challenging Ranch Horse Class with Jaime Wood in the saddle. The O’Hair Ranch of Paradise Valley area south of Livingston came in second with 24 points.

The coveted Top Hand award, voted on by other teams, judges and audience members, was awarded to Jaime Wood of the Inlaws and Outlaws Team and the Top Horse went to Luke Wiggins of the Diamond X Team from Dillon, MT.

The popular ranch rodeo attracted hundreds of spectators from around the state as well as many ranch families from the region who turned out to celebrate this ranching way of life.

A Calcutta of over $16,000 was paid out to bidders of the first and second place winners.
