The 2010 Black Hills Stock Show Limousin Show and Sale was held Friday, Feb. 5 in Rapid City, SD. Twenty-seven bulls and four heifers participated in this year’s show judged by Randy Daniel of Colbert, GA.

Winning Champion Limousin Bull was Lot 40, L7 Unannounced 8032U, consigned by Peterson’s L7 Bar Limousin of Pukwana, SD. This bull born 3/29/08 is the son of DVFC Warden 233K. He sold as the high selling Limousin bull, going to Anchor B Limousin of Hanley, SK for $6,000.

Taking Reserve Champion Limousin Bull honors was Lot 14, JSWT Wide Load 902W, consigned by Jared Sweeter of Amherst, SD. This 3/14/09 bull is the son of ROMN Justice and sold to Lord Limousin/Mark Willette of Delavon, MN for $3,200.

Winning Champion Limousin Heifer was Lot 7, ROMN Witchy Woman, consigned by ROMN Limousin of Arlington, SD. This heifer born 3/11/09 is the daughter of DHVO Trey 133R and sold as the high selling Limousin heifer, going to Mike Sweeter of Davis, SD for $3,000.

The Reserve Champion Limousin Heifer was Lot 8, Miss Syes Paragon 328U, consigned by Symens Bros. Limousin of Amherst, SD. This bred heifer born 4/19/08 is the daughter of SY Paragon 340P and sold for $2,900 to Harold E. Fromm of Rapid City, SD.

This year’s Limousin sale saw 27 bulls going for an average of $2,385.19 and four heifers averaging $2,137.50. Last year’s Limousin sale had 30 bulls sold for an average of $2,528 per head. Five heifers averaged $1,990.
