Millar Angus, Deep Creek Angus and McPherson Angus Joint Bull Sale

Scott Dirk

Millar Angus, Deep Creek Angus and McPherson Angus welcomed a near full house of buyers and bidders for their annual bull sale held at Philip Livestock Auction, Philip, SD. This group of young, progressive Angus breeders has earned the appriciation of the bull buying public by offering an excellent set of bulls. The bulls are backed by top notch customer service that was very evident by the large number of repeat bull buyers in the seats.

Although these are three separate programs the philosophy is the same for all – breed quality, eye appealing seedstock that excel in maternal, calving ease, performance and carcass traits. Each set of bulls looked that part and complimented each other very well.

This was a fast paced sale with very active bidding from the first bull in the ring to the last. In addition to a great set of bulls, there was an excellent group of bred and open heifers consigned by past bull buyers. The heifers were sired by and/or bred to bulls out of these programs and were very well accepted. The top selling group of bred heifers sold for $1,160 and the top group of open heifers sold for just under $110 cwt.
