Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2011 pageant results

Brittany Richards, Miss Butch Cassidy Days from Laramie, WY, took home the honors of Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2011. The Miss Rodeo Wyoming pageant was held in Douglas, WY, Aug. 17-21, 2010 during the Wyoming State Fair.

There were eight young women vying for the title of Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2011 from across the sate. Contestants included: Kiley Boe, Miss Cody Stampede from Cody; Desiree Bridges, Miss Teton County Fair and Rodeo from Jackson; Ashlee Estel, Miss All Around from Cheyenne; Amber Ezell, Carbon County Fair and Rodeo Queen from Rawlins; Jamie Pond, Albany County Farm Bureau Queen from Laramie; Shawna Praeuner, Miss Rodeo Weston County from Newcastle; and Chrissy Wilmetti, Sweetwater County Rodeo Queen from Rock Springs.

Contestants were judged by a panel of three highly qualified judges including: Tricia Schaffer from North Platte, NE; John Young, DVM, Golden, CO; and Zona Vig, Mud Butte, SD.

Erin Heffron, Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2010, was on hand for the awards ceremony. Wyoming State Fair Director James Goodrich presented the saddle to Brittany. Brittany took home the categories of horsemanship, personality and appearance. She also won the sales achievement award, knowledge award, photogenic award and the speech award.

First runner-up honors went to Desiree Bridges, the Teton County Fair & Rodeo Queen of Jackson. Desiree also won the scrapbook award. The second runner-up went to Shawna Praeuner, Miss Rodeo Weston County of Newcastle. Shawna also won the category of congeniality.

Jamie Pond, Albany County Farm Bureau Queen from Laramie, won the most programs sold award.

Brittany Richards is the daughter of Loren and Chris and calls Laramie home. The dream and desire of being Miss Rodeo Wyoming has never been far from her heart. She recently graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Business Administration. While enrolled at the university she was active in Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business honorary.

Brittany will be planning a fall coronation fundraiser in Laramie.
