Randall Lee Davis: 1946-2017

Randall Lee Davis, 70, Box Elder, died Friday, May 12, 2017.

Randall was born on December 19, 1946, to Everett "Buck" Harris and Lorraine Randall in Belle Fourche. He was born a twin, but his brother, Chan, passed in 1970. He went to elementary and high school in Belle Fourche and graduated in 1965. After graduation, Randall went to technical school in Denver, Colorado for mechanics. He was drafted into the Army in 1967 and discharged in 1968. Randall married Karen Matthews on May 31, 1969, and to that union two sons were born; Matthew in 1975, and Tucker in 1978.

Randall worked for Amax Coal Company in Gillette, Wyoming for 29 years. After his retirement, they moved from the ranch in 2016.

He was a long-time member of the Buckaroos, the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association, and R-CALF USA.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; sons, Matt (Molly) Davis, and their children, Hunter and Sarah, and Tucker Davis; mother, Lorraine; sister, Evelyn Kinney; and brother, Rick (Kay) Davis.

Randall is preceded in death by his father, Buck, and his brothers, Doug and Chan.

A memorial has been established for a scholarship fund for the Western South Dakota Buckaroos.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Kirk Funeral Home. A luncheon will be held immediately after, with a burial to follow at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche. Condolences may be sent to the family at http://www.kirkfuneralhome.com.
