Powder River Angus/Rafter T Angus Bull Sale

by Andy Swenson

Neal and Amanda Sorenson, and Kale and Kim Kretschman held a solid, impressive reputable sale this past weekend. Powder River Angus and Rafter T Angus had a tremendous offering of yearling Angus bulls for sale in Buffalo, WY, Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011. The weather held out just long enough for people to get to the sale and fill the stands. Despite wintery conditions, a good crowd was on hand and a delicious, homemade lunch was offered. A special thanks to Nancy Sorenson for making a huge selection of goodies which was enjoyed by all.

With many repeat buyers and volume buyers in the stands when sale time came around, the action was fast and furious. Several bidders unable to attend due to weather, participated via Internet and phone to make for a very active sale.

By the time the last bull left the ring, there was still a good crowd in the stands and bulls were still in demand. The Wyoming wind finally calmed down, and Neal Sorenson gave a heart-felt closing speech and thanked everyone for making this sale a huge success. With cattle prices at an all-time high and demand for beef on the rise, the cattle business looks very promising for the years to come.
