The fastest time of the day was 8.6 seconds, by Marty Jones in the 2nd go-around and Leo Campbell in the short-go. The short-go had 22 ropers due to ties on total times on the first two go-arounds.

Winning the steer roping was Leo Campbell of Amarillo, TX with an overall time of 30.9 seconds on three head. Consistent scores in the first two go-arounds helped him to make the short-go, where a smoking fast 8.6 on his third steer cinched the event for him.
