PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour returns to Black Hills Stock Show Rodeo Jan. 28-29

RAPID CITY, SD – The national PRCA Seminole Hard Rock Xtreme Bulls Tour Presented by B&W Trailer Hitches returns to Rapid City, SD, on Jan. 28-29, 2011 at the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo for the 5th Annual Rapid City Xtreme Bulls.

Seventy of the world’s top bull riders will converge on the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center to take their shot at a $47,000 purse.

The star-studded field will include twenty-three (23) Wrangler National Finals Rodeo bull riding qualifiers, fourteen (14) Xtreme Bulls Tour stop winners as well as 2008 Xtreme Bulls Tour Champion Chance Smart, Philadelphia, MS; 2007 Xtreme Bulls Tour Champion Kanin Asay, Powell, WY; and 2006 Xtreme Bulls Tour Champion Zeb Lanham, Sweet, ID. South Dakota bull riders Ardie Maier, Corey Maier and John Jacobs of Timber Lake, Brian Curtis of Belle Fourche, Clay Hindman of Belvidere and Taylor Cowan of Ft. Pierre are also slated to compete.

Rapid City will also welcome the baddest, meanest, rankest one-ton athletes in the world. These bulls have thrown cowboys at the largest rodeo venues in the world, including the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, RodeoHouston, San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier Days and more.

A new Xtreme Bulls Tour format will be introduced to Rapid City bull riding fans this year. Seventy (70) riders will compete over the two-day event. Each night, 35 different cowboys will participate in a long-go with the top 10 riders being brought back for a short-go round. The Rapid City champion will be crowned based on the highest average score from both nights of competition.

Performances on Friday, Jan. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 29 begin at 7:30 p.m.
