With a longstanding reputation as one of the leading Quarter Horse show circuits in the upper Midwest, the Black Hills Summer Circuit once again offered exhibitors a phenomenal opportunity to complete their AQHA World Show qualifying points for 2010. Held in Rapid City, SD, July 5-10, entry numbers reached 2,112 in the 90 classes offered throughout the six-day show schedule.

Exhibitors entered from Texas, Nevada, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Arkansas and Montana. Respectable class numbers were recorded in several events: Junior Reining, Senior Reining and Amateur Trail were all three-point classes. Two-point classes were consistent throughout the week in Amateur Reining, Senior Trail, Green Horse Western Pleasure, Youth 14-18 Western Pleasure, Amateur Select Western Pleasure and Horsemanship, Youth 14-18 Hunt Seat Equitation and Hunter Under Saddle, Novice Youth Western Pleasure, Amateur Western Pleasure and the Green Horse Western Riding.

Judges for the 2010 Black Hills Summer Circuit were Dolly Chayer, OK; Mark Sheridan, AZ; Sheldon Soderberg, Alberta, Canada; Kelly Boles Chapman, MI; and Kelley Stone, TX.
