A good-sized crowd of very active bidders gathered at Rushville, NE, for the annual Charolais bull sale, offered by Schmidt Cattle Co. As always, Randy and Marj greeted customers, making them feel welcome as they came to look at their bulls.

It only takes one introduction to Randy Schmidt; you won’t be a stranger a second time. His slogan for advertising is, “bulls that fit.” He knows what he’s looking for, since he is involved in all aspects of the cattle industry. They farm, produce feed for cattle which they background and feed on their farm. They also run a yearling operation, along with their registered Charolais herd.

The carcass characteristics that his bulls maintain are very important, as almost all the cattle they feed are sired by Schmidt Cattle Company bulls. Randy stated in the sale catalog, “I won’t make any false promise to bid on all our bull customer’s calves, but when we need cattle, they will be Char-cross cattle sired by our bulls.”

This was a fantastic set of bulls, and the demand stayed strong to the very end of the sale.
