Sitz Angus 9th Annual Spring Sale

Doug Hogan

Ed Trotter from Grassy Butte, ND, has bought Sitz bulls for 10 years.

Sitz Angus held their 9th Annual Spring Yearling Bull Sale on March 9, 2011 at the Ranch, Dillon, MT. Jim and Bob Sitz continue to have a remarkable set of bulls that purebred breeders and the commercial cattlemen and women want. They always meet their customers’ needs by selling bulls that will keep them profitable in the cattle business for years to come. Rigid culling for performance, udder construction, fertility, sound feet, longevity and calving ease has been part of their success since the ranch was established in 1923. Jim and Bob are the third generation operating the ranch, along with the fourth generation that is becoming more and more involved. Selling cattle is something the Sitz Family has done for many, many years as their repeat buyers have had great success with the Sitz Angus cattle.

Leading off the top-selling bulls was Lot 43, Sitz Final Answer 618X. This 1/27/10 son of SAV Final Answer 0035 sold to KCK Leadore Angus, Leadore, ID; Current Creek Angus, Roundup, MT; and Shipwheel Cattle Company, Chinook, MT; for $54,000.

Lot 49, Sitz Game Day 561X, a 2/4/10 son of GDAR Game Day 449 sold to Joel Bunker, MJB Angus, Sharon Springs, KS, at $19,000.

Lot 5, Sitz Upward 539X, a 2/6/10 son of Sitz Upward 307R, found a new home with Joe Heiken, Heiken Angus Ranch, Broadview, MT, for $18,000.
