South Dakota Women in Ag learn, laugh News News | Oct 8, 2015 Jeff Zimprich, state conservationist with the NRCS, talked to participants at the South Dakota Women in Ag conference about the importance of pollinators and soil health. Approximately 60 women participated in the two-day event in Rapid City, said SDWIA president Codi Mills. Other sessions included self defense, preparing for the unexpected, marketing to milennials and using humor to relieve stress. After-hours activities gave participants a chance to paint, craft, sample South Dakota wine and visit. A "pay it forward" project is chosen every year, and this year participants donated enough cold-weather gear to warm more than 100 people in need. Next year's conference is Oct. 7 and 8 at K Bar S Lodge in Keystone. Photo by Maria Tussing.
