Wyo symposium offers ag education
You will “be glad you came to town” for the Twenty Second Annual Symposium!
Casper will host the entertaining ag-focused event, Nov. 12-13, at the Parkway Plaza.
The speakers and breakout sessions will be interesting and informative. We have our Trade Show with items our ranch folks developed to diversify their incomes and they offer unique Christmas gift items! There will be shopping times scheduled during the day.
We kick off our free Thursday evening session on Nov 12, with a cash bar and appetizers at 5:30 pm. Men are welcome. At 6:30 pm, Curt Cox, Dr. Steve Paisley and Greg Faxon will speak about heifer selection tools, marketing trends, preconditioning, nutrition, ultrasound and also will field questions from the audience. Entertainment will be 12-year-old Jessica Jacobs, 2015 Wyoming State and Regional Fiddle Champion.
Friday, Nov 13, registration begins at 8 am, Welcome at 9 am and Lyndy Phillips will open the Symposium general session with keynote address “Laugh More, Stress Less.”

The rest of the day provides break out sessions for you! “Protect Yourself from Identity Theft” by Gary Trapkus; “Educate Yourself with the Foundational 5,” five practices managers must master to capitalize on quality beef production by Greg Faxon; “Organize Yourself” by Cathy Holman, AKA Prairie Wife in Heels; “Inform Yourself” by Jessica Crowder, policy advisor for Governor Mead, discussing “How Will Wyoming’s Wildlife Affect Your Ag Operation?”; “Inspire Yourself” by Jeanna Butterfield who will discuss the power of the horse; and“Defend Yourself,” a panel discussion.
