Wyoming: Cow tests positive for brucellosis

Routine testing at a Montana market turned up a cow from Park County, WY, testing positive for brucellosis, the Wyoming Livestock Board announced last week. Wyoming officials are currently investigating the case, and plan further testing of the suspect cow and its herd of origin.

Pending further test results, the herd has not yet been designated an infected herd by USDA. Results from tissue tests to confirm the initial test findings are not expected until the end of the month, the Board said.
