Reading on the Ranch
Give ranch books to kids this holiday season – donate books today!
Help Tri-State Livestock News support our elementary schools in their need of books for students, with our Reading on the Ranch book drive Nov. 21 – Jan. 7. There are kids who go home with nothing to read, classrooms without enough books to go around and school libraries in need of fresh pages. Please donate new or barely used books from PreK – 5th-grade reading levels. Readers can mail them to our office using the discounted media mail rate through the Post Office, drop them off at our office or purchase online to shop and ship. There is a bin for after hours drop off at our office. At the end of our book drive, we will distribute to local rural schools in our region.
In conjunction with this book drive, we are also doing a coloring page contest. Jan Swan Wood will be drawing up a cartoon for us and one lucky kiddo will receive a local authors’ signed children's book. Look for it in your next issue of Tri-State Livestock News.
No child should go to bed at night or to school without a story to read. We need your help to spread the word and support literacy in our rural schools. Join us in spreading some holiday cheer this season.
Need some ideas for books you can donate? We’ve taken some of the guesswork out of the equation for you; Check out our Amazon wish list!
