Nature notched another beautiful day in Her belt for the Redland Red Angus & Gelbvieh sale at the ranch sale barn in Hysham, Montana. The bulls offered on sale day represented well as some of the most well muscled set of bulls seen to date. They were developed to optimize their feet and legs to provide a more work ready set of bulls. There was a bull for everybody with calving ease to growth bulls and even some Gelbvieh Balancer bulls. It was an impressive set of seed stock that will really pack some pounds on feeder calves as well as make a sharp set of females. Hat’s off to the Redlands on a successful day. Here’s the very top:

• High seller: Lot 17, Red Endurance 530, was sold to the long-time customers from the Broken Chain Ranch in Sumatra, MT. Sired by Schuler Endurance 2101Z, this bull was born Jan. 31, 2015, at 85 pounds and was 674 pounds on his Adj. WW. His EPDs include BW -1.9, WW 57, YW 94, and Milk 26.

• Second high seller: Fred Roedeske of Sidney, Montana, purchased Lot 13, Red Iron Man 523, for $9,500. Born Jan. 30, 2015, at 93 pounds and posting an Adj. WW of 690 pounds; this HXC Big Iron 0024X son will stretch out some feeder cattle. His EPDs include BW 1.1, WW 70, YW 115, and Milk 13.

• Third high seller: Lot 2, Red Conquest 52, rang the bell at $9,000 for Steve Trautman of Enderlind, North Dakota. Here is a 5L Norseman King 2291 son with excellent calving ease EPDs of BW -1.9, WW 50, YW 79, and Milk 19. He was born Jan. 20, 2015, at 75 pounds and was 656 pounds on his Adj. WW.

• Fourth high seller: Fred Roedeske of Sidney, Montana, took Lot 47, Red Epic 5031, as well for $8,500. This MLK CRK Epic 0190 son stood out in the pen and was born Feb. 16, 2015, at 90 pounds and was 725 pounds on his Adj. WW. His EPDs include BW -0.5, WW 57, YW 90, and Milk 21.

4 bulls sold for $8,000 each to round out the top end.
