Contestants sought for Miss Rodeo N.D. pageant

The Miss Rodeo North Dakota Pageant Association is seeking applications from young women interested in serving as Miss Rodeo North Dakota for 2016. Miss Rodeo North Dakota promotes and assists with rodeos and other events throughout North Dakota and serves as an ambassador at numerous rodeos throughout the country.

The Miss Rodeo North Dakota Pageant will be held Oct. 8 to 11 in Minot in conjunction with the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo Finals. Contestants need to be available these dates for participation in pageant competition and rodeo activities. Contestants are judged on horsemanship, speeches, a public and personal interview, response to impromptu questions, appearance and modeling.

Miss Rodeo North Dakota contestants must be residents of the state and between the ages of 18 to 25 as of Dec. 31, 2015, to assure eligibility for the Miss Rodeo America Pageant in 2016.

Prizes for the new Miss Rodeo North Dakota include a trophy saddle sponsored Northern Plains Steel; a trophy buckle sponsored by Milt’s Building Supply, Elgin; a jacket from Hensen’s Fur and Leather, Minot, and autograph sheets and print material by Image Printing, Bismarck.

New royalty will be crowned at the Oct. 11 rodeo performance by 2015 Miss Rodeo North Dakota Danielle Taylor of Mandan.
