The Ft. Fetterman Remount Invitaional Horse Sale was held Aug. 10, in Douglas, WY. The sale included proven ranch and rodeo performance horses, upcoming prospects and quality broodmares. Of the 57 horses in the sale, 32 were sold; 26 geldings, four broodmares, a weanling and one mule.
Remount Award Jackets sponsered by Hometown Apparel were presented to the top buyer and the top seller.
The top selling horse of the day was Lot 56 – Mr Dan San an 8 year old, well trained dun rope and ranch Quarter Horse gelding owned by Hunter Penn of Morrill, NE. He was sold for $8,000 to Trent Boner of Douglas, WY.
The next high seller was Lot 10 – JS Can Bee Blue a big, 5 year old blue roan gelding. JS Can Bee Blue is a solid rope and ranch horse from Meyer Horse Co. of Cedar Rapids, IA. He was sold for $6,600 to Roy Jarrard of Casper, WY.
The third, fourth and fifth high sellers of the sale were; Lot 48 – LF Hancock All Over a 6 year old bay, ranch gelding selling for $6,100 to Roy Jarrard of Casper, WY, Lot 6 – IMA Dry Tari an 8 year old gray seasoned, heading horse from Meyer Horse Co. of Cedar Rapids, IA which sold for $5,800 to TK Atkinson of Casper, WY, and Lot 5 – WMR Flying Bingo, an 8 year old bay tobiano Paint ranch gelding from Meyer Horse Co selling for $5,750 to John Hadley of Marmarth, ND.
The top selling brood mare was Lot 55 – Lowrey Jr Blue Cat a 4 year old, well-bred, blue roan mare from Diamond-McNabb which sold for $1,200 to Marty and Daniel Austin of Thorton, WV.
