I'm sure glad I'm not trying to get any hay up yet. I can nearly hear the weeping and gnashing of teeth from here as all the folks in the area with alfalfa are having to just watch the weevils feast away. I know a few that have sprayed, but with the rain and wind, that's been a challenge too. All we have is grass hay that isn't ready until in July, so we haven't slipped into panic mode yet.
I was saddened to hear that the Miles City sale barn burned down on June 13. The hot fire consumed the building rapidly, but thankfully it wasn't sale day so there was no crowd. The pipe pens nearby look to be in good shape and they are planning to rebuild. They are also planning on being up and running with a sale again on June 23, though I haven't heard just how they're going to do that.
Dane Kissack, Spearfish, S.D., won the average in the tie down roping at the Sisters, Ore. PRCA rodeo June 12-14. Married life must be agreeing with him, as he and his bride Kelli are honeymooning on the rodeo road.
The big Ft. Pierre Match Bronc Ride on June 6 results are as follows: Chad Ferley won it, with Cole Elshere second, Ty Manke third, and J.J. Elshere fourth. Of the 30 bronc riders, 26 were from S.D. with two from Neb. and two from Mont. The good broncs came from Burch, Wyo, and Korkow and Sutton from S.D.

Well, that's my circle for this week. I hope, if you are blessed to be a Dad or have a Dad still living, that you had a wonderful Father's Day. I know I am sure blessed to have mine. Others may not agree, but I think he's the best one in the whole world.
