These women collectively pushed AQHA along in its fledgling years and helped the breed expand its popularity from coast to coast. Some were breeders, some were owners and competitors, and others were chroniclers and artists who recorded history. All were leaders and visionaries, and each left her mark on the American Quarter Horse industry. The efforts of these women opened the doors to others and made it possible for the lifestyle to exist.
These visionary women embody the elements of grace, beauty and fire. Their hard work and sacrifices contributed to the history and progression of the American Quarter Horse.
The Bold and Beautiful exhibit includes personal artifacts and interactive pieces that bring the 12 women’s stories to life.
