It was a long and beautiful drive out to Valier, Mont., for the Diamond D Angus Annual Production Sale. As always the DeBoo family provided a top quality offering of bulls and females. This program is unique in the sense that all the cattle offered are completely forage developed. Hay and water is the only combination needed for weight gain on these rascals. The Diamond D program is doing an excellent job of line breeding and taking advantage of all the high quality traits that show through. The cattle looked good, the food was great, and the people were outstanding. Colonel Roger Jacobs kept the pace fast and furious all day. Here is the cream off the top:

Lot 9, RDDA Julian 9R, topped the sale at $9,000 to Ron Brossart of Leeds, N.D. This Red Hilld B571 Julian son is a Red Angus bull born April 29, 2015, with EPDs of BW -3.7, WW 51, YW 82, and Milk 21. He was 82 pounds at birth and posted an Adj. WW of 609 pounds.

Lot 8, DDA Alliance 8R, was purchased for $7,750 by Rein’s Anchor Ranch, Melville, Mont. He’s a HAR Pinebank 443 202 son with EPDs of BW 0.6, WW 36, YW 51, and Milk 14. He was born April 29, 2015, at 78 pounds and posted an Adj. WW of 639 pounds.

Lot 69, DDA Freeman 69R, was bought for $6,000 by Kelly Kluver, Forsyth, Mont. This DDA Emblazon 27C son was born May 11, 2015, at 65 pounds and posted 533 pounds on his Adj. WW. His EPDs are BW -1.3, WW 32, YW 51, and Milk 17.

Lot 1, DDA Jasper 1R, found a home for $5,750 with Kyle Bohl, Wolford, N.D. He was born April 26, 2015, at 69 pounds and posted an Adj. WW of 649 pounds. He’s a Noble Jasper 6039 son with EPDs of BW 0.5, WW 36, YW 45, and Milk 16.

Lot 17, DDA Alliance 17R, sold for $5,750 to Ray Stowers of Whitebird, Idaho. He HAR Pinebank 443 202 son was born May 1, 2015, at 83 pounds and was 566 pounds on his Adj. WW. His EPDs include BW 1.3, WW 29, YW 38, and Milk 13.

Lot 50, DDA Alliance 50R, was purchased for $5,750 by Larry Webb of Newkirk, NM. He was born May 9, 2015, at 83 pounds and has a 534 pounds Adj. WW. He’s sired by the Pinebank bull and posted EPDs of BW 1.5, WW 32, YW 43, and Milk 14.
