It was a fine Montana day in Springdale for the Felton Angus Ranch bull sale. This being the 43rd year in the business the Felton Ranch has definitely fined-tuned this program of “working class bulls for the working class rancher.” The bulls offered were in their everyday working pants ready to prove their durability in any terrain. It’s a true testament to the program when 98 percent of the customers that buy a Felton bull turn into a repeat buyer. The prime rib meal was only a side note compared to the quality of bulls offered and here is how the top end looked:
Ringing the bell at $15,000 late in the day was Lot 120, Felton Dateline T446. Purchased by Thorson Ranch of White Sulfur Springs, Montana. This Rock’n D Dateline 2821 son posted EPDs of BW 0.9, WW 52, YW 79, and Milk 25. He was born March, 2014, weighing 85 pounds and squashed the scale at 205 days weighing 1,004 pounds.
Lot 7, Felton Confidence S44, sold for $9,000 to Thorson Ranch of White Sulfur Springs, Montana. This Connealy Confidence 0100 son was born April, 2014, at 72 pounds and posted a 903 pounds 205-day weight. His EPDs include BW -2.0, WW 61, YW 98, and Milk 20.
Lot 2, Felton Wide Track T425, sold to Brown Cattle Company of Birney, Montana for $8,500. He weighed 85 pounds at birth in March, 14, and 943 pounds at his 205-day weight. This son of Apex Wide Track 4401 posts EPDs of BW 2.8, WW 57, YW 91, and Milk 25.
Lot 140, Felton Water Mark 151F4, is headed to Wyoming with Cheri Smith for $8,500. This Felton Water Mark S800 son put up EPDs of BW 1.4, WW 54, YW 86, and Milk 21. He weighed 83 pounds at birth in September, 2014, and 852 pounds on his 205-day weight.
