It was standing room only at the Green Mountain Angus Ranch near Rygate, Montana, for their 43rd Annual Fall Production Sale. There was no question as to the reason for such an attendance, everyone was wanting in on the top genetics that were fluent throughout the herd. The goal at GMAR is to “produce high performance, problem free cattle that have low birth weights with superior growth” and the bulls did not disappoint. Colonel Roger Jacobs got going fast and furious and here is how it all shook out:

Hitting the high note for the day was Lot 1 GMAR Active Duty C279. He sold for $50,000 to Spear U Angus of Wall, South Dakota and Joseph Angus of Winner, South Dakota. This RB Active Duty 010 son was born Feb. 2, 2015 weighing 82 pounds with a 900 pounds Adj. 205. His EPDs include BW 83, WW 3, YW 2, and Milk 28.

Not far behind selling for $27,500 was Lot 3 GMAR Resource C013. Purchased by Rock Solid Angus of Park City, Montana; this son of SAV Resource 1,441 posted EPDs of BW 83, WW 17, YW 12, and Milk 62. He was born Jan. 1, 2015 weighing 75 pounds and has an Adj. 205 of 767 pounds.

Also purchased by Rock Solid Angus of Park City, Montana was Lot 4, GMAR Consensus C025, for $19,000. This Connealy Consensus 7229 son was born Jan. 9, 2015, weighing 80 pounds and 860 pounds on the Adj. 205. He has EPDs that include BW 58, WW 5, YW 16, and Milk 3.

Lot 64, GMAR High Regard C084, sold for $18,000 to Mangen Angus of Broadus, Montana. This nice KG High Regard 2073 son posted EPDs of BW 20, WW 43, YW 52, and Milk 24. He was born Jan. 22, 2015 weighing in at 75 pounds and has an Adj. 205 of 727 pounds.

There were 5 bulls sold for $16,000 and distributed to 3 different states. These bulls were definitely a high quality product aggressively sought after from beginning to end.
