Ken Haas Angus “Right Combination” Bull Sale

There was an excellent crowd of buyers on hand at the Ken Haas Angus bull sale.

Ken, Heather and Kendall Haas hosted their annual bull sale at the ranch near LaGrange, Wyoming, Jan. 27, 2015. This was the 33rd Annual sale for Ken Haas Angus and their most successful to date.

The spring-like weather allowed buyers to come early and sort through this great set of high quality bulls. By the time sale time rolled around, the seats were full of bidders and buyers, all looking for powerful Angus bulls sired by the top carcass quality bulls in the breed. Ken has paid particular attention to carcass quality without sacrificing eye appeal and calving ease and performance.

The bulls sired by home-raised herd sire KC Hass GPS garnered particular high interest and enthusiasm. GPS was sold in the 2008 sale and is leased to breeders in Australia and New Zealand. He has been performance tested with the top Angus Herd Sires from the USA, Australia and New Zealand with awesome results. This is a set of bulls that will add pounds to the feeder calves and beef on the hook.

Topping out the sale was lot 31, a March 6, 2014, son of Connealy Consensus 7299 with epds of BW 1.7 WW 64 YW 109 Milk 31 with a $B value of 123.93 sold to Whiting Ranches, Baggs,Wyoming. This was Kendall’s bull and will add a nice bonus to the college fund selling at $16,500.

Selling at $15,000 was lot 1, a Jan. 25, 2014, son of Connealy Impression with epds of BW 0.5 WW 70 YW 118 Milk 26 $B 112. 04. Boot Heel 7 Ranch, Lusk, Wyoming, was the buyer.

Also at $15,000 was lot 52, a Feb. 18, 2014, son of KC Haas GPS with epds of BW 0.6 WW 60 YW 120 Milk 25 $B 117.04. Hester Farms, Keeline, Wyoming, was the buyer.

L & T Ball Ranch, Briggsdale, Colorado, purchased lot 55 for $15,500. This March 1, 2014, son of KC Haas GPS has epds of BW 1.4 WW 68 YW 125 Milk 29 $B 123.94.

Dalton Baloun, Seneca, S.D., got lot 24 at $14,000. This 2/20/14 son of Connealy In Focus 4925 has epds of BW 1.2 WW 75 YW 117 Milk 27 $B 107.60.

As usual the hospitality was second to none, with a steak lunch before the sale and refreshments after. If you left hungry, it was your own fault.
