Mike and Jodie Lehrkamp and son Carl held their 43rd Annual Lehrkamp Livestock production sale at the ranch east of Caputa, South Dakota, on Apr. 10, 2016. There was a really nice crowd of buyers on hand that braved the windy blustery day to attend the sale.

These bulls were in great working condition; they had been fed and developed to handle any environment. These bulls were deep made with natural thickness and great dispositions. There was a mix of sires in the offering, giving buyers plenty of options from calving ease to growth.

Lehrkamp Livestock is a smaller operation in numbers, but the quality is in the cattle. Also the hospitality and lunch are worth the effort to make it to this sale.

The high selling bull on the day was lot 538, LL Warrant 538, a Mar. 2015 calving ease son of Buford Warrant 1126 that has EPDs of CED 16 BW -3 WW 46 YW 82 Milk 25 selling to Leroy Scott, Highmore, South Dakota for $5,500.

Selling at $5,000 was lot 509, LL Irishman 509, a Feb. 2015 son of Connealy Irish 0204 that had a weaning ratio of 111 and EPDs of CED 8 BW 1.3 WW 53 YW 101 Milk 26. Mark Weldon, Edgemont, South Dakota was the buyer.

Lot 514, LL Generation 514, a Feb. 2015 son of VAR Generation 2100 with EPDs of CED 10 BW .2 WW 55 YW 105 Milk 31 sold to Justin Wheeler, Philip, South Dakota for $5,000.
