McCumber Angus Ranch presented another fantastic set of powerful bulls to a totally packed house for their Annual Production Sale on Mar. 23, 2016. Chuck & Gail Tastad along with son and daughter in law Matt & Cynthia and family always present top quality Angus genetics for their sale.

The sale facility at the ranch was again filled with a standing room only crowd of repeat and new buyers that came to purchase seedstock from this operation. On some sales, you can definitely feel a “buzz in the air” from the crowd before the sale starts. This is always one of those types of sales. In a year when the majority of the sales have been off a bit on sale averages, the McCumber Angus Ranch sale was a touch higher this year than last year’s record.

This is an operation with the future of the cattle industry and Angus breed in mind. They have an extensive ET and AI program utilizing the top herd sires available to achieve their goals of breeding excellent mother cows that in turn produce top replacement heifers and herd bulls. In many cases, the top herd sires that work at McCumber Angus were bred and raised at McCumber Angus.

Sam Buford, Tulsa, Oklahoma, picked lot 139A for $18,000.
