Sandage Angus from Gordon, Nebraska, hosted another huge crowd as Sheridan Livestock was filled to the rafters for their annual “five o’clock on a Saturday night” bull sale. The festivities began in late afternoon with some delicious Angus burgers, and plenty of time to evaluate these good bulls.

The name of the game at Sandage Angus is their customer support. Gary and Diane are very involved in the cattle industry around northwestern Nebraska. They are very well-known and trusted.

They had a beautiful evening for their sale, and the sale was very competitive from start to finish. Many repeat buyers were on hand to bid on this good set of bulls.

The top selling bull of the day was Lot 529, selling for $17,000. He was GS Tiger 529, a son of WK Tiger 1336, and out of a daughter of PRA Windy 725. He had a birth weight of 88 pounds, and an actual weaning weight of 808 pounds, to go with an actual sale day weight of 1,298 pounds. His EPDs were BW 1.0, WW 52, MILK 25, and YW 91. He sold to Larry Leisy from Ellsworth, Nebraska.

Mangen Angus from Broadus, Montana, chose Lot 56 at $16,000. He was GS Impressive 56, a son of Mohnen Impressive 1093, and out of a daughter of HF Tiger 29. Born at 88 pounds, he weaned at 808 pounds. He weighed 1,230 pounds on January 18th. His EPDs were BW 1.3, WW 60, MILK 25, and YW 108.

Hebbert Cattle Company from Ashby, Nebraska, topped their purchases with Lot 52 at $12,000. This son of HF Yohann 313A was out of a daughter of Connealy Danny Boy. With a 92 pound birth weight, he weaned at 694 pounds, and posted a present day weight of 1,264 pounds, after gaining 4.5 pounds per day on test. His EPDs were BW 3.4, WW 49, MILK 13, and YW 92.

Hebberts also purchased Lot 516. At $11,500, he was a son of CCA Juneau 3542 and out of a daughter of MA Broadside 1334-822. He was 86 pounds at birth, before weaning at 800 pounds. His EPDs were BW 2, WW 56, MILK 19, and YW 94.

Lot 58 sold for $9,500 to Jim and Sandi Abbott from Hay Springs, Nebraska. This son of Mohnen Impressive 1093 was out of a daughter of Barstow Cash. With his 78 pound birth weight, he grew to a weaning weight of 736 pounds. His EPDs were BW -0.1, WW 58, MILK 24, and YW 111.

Lot 54 sold for $9,000. Sired by HF Yohann 313A, he was out of a daughter of Baldridge Ratchet R47. His EPDs were BW 2.6, WW 60, MILK 23, and YW 103, with a present day weight of 1,250 pounds.
