The day was a bit chilly at the Sodak Angus Ranch near Reva, South Dakota, but things warmed up quickly as soon as the sale started. The bidding was hot and coming from all over the sale ring as folks tried getting one of these excellent long-aged bulls. These bulls are developed on pasture with high roughage rations to make these bulls durable in any terrain. With hand selected genetics and a good eye Sodak Angus Ranch has offered bulls with curb-appeal roadside and performance on paper. Here are the top end of each breed:
Top Red Angus Bulls:
Lot 1, Sodak Final Answer B510, found a new home with Campbell Red Angus of McIntosh, South Dakota, for $20,000. This Sodak Final Answer Y544 son was born August, 2014, weighing 88 pounds and had an ADJ WW of 775 pounds. His EPDs include BW 2.4, WW 57, YW 86, and Milk 24.
Lot 5, Sodak Thunder B558, headed to Lusk, Wyoming, purchased by Patrick Wade for $8,250. This Sodak Royal Flush Y342 son posted EPDs of BW -1.2, WW 55, YW 91, and Milk 23. He was born on August, 2014, at 76 pounds and has and ADJ WW of 628 pounds.
Lots 2, 3, and 22 sold for $8,000 respectively.
Top Angus Bulls:
Lot 41, Sodak Top Notch B329, sold for $9,000 to the Gaaskjolen Ranch of Meadow, South Dakota. This Sodak Hurricane Z441 son was born August, 2014, weighing 75 pounds and has and ADJ WW 863 pounds. His EPDs include BW 3.1, WW 68, YW 94, and Milk 21.
The final bull of the day Lot 110, Sodak Final Draft B369, sold for $8,750 to Matt Dockery of Lusk, Wyoming. This Sodak Final Draft Y537 son was born August, 2014, weighing 72 pounds and has an ADJ WW of 742 pounds. His EPDs are BW 1.1, WW 62, YW 91, and Milk 21.
Selling for $8,500 was Lot 36, Sodak Heaven B311, to the Fishhook Ranch of Prairie City, South Dakota. This Sodak Heaven Y531 son was born August, 2014, weighing 76 pounds with a 758 pounds ADJ WW. His EPDs include BW 0.8, WW 47, YW 90, and Milk 33.
Lot 37, Sodak Power Up B312, sold for $8,500 to Veal Black Angus of Meadow, South Dakota. This Sodak Update Z410 son posted EPDs of BW 0.7, WW 55, YW 88, and Milk 23. He was born August, 2014, weighing 65 pounds and has an ADJ WW of 779 pounds.
