Tokach Angus held their 41st annual production sale at Kist Livestock, Mandan, North Dakota, Feb. 15.

The Tokach family is dedicated to raising top quality Angus cattle and to the Angus breed as a whole. This hardworking family was honored as a 2015 Certified Angus Beef Commitment To Excellence award winner last year.

There was a huge crowd of buyers and bidders on hand for the sale and the bidding was competitive throughout the day, especially on the calving ease bulls. The sale bulls ranked in the top of the breed for nearly every measurable trait, plus were fed for longevity and soundness.

• Top seller: The top selling bull on the day was lot 1, Tokach Cash C003, a Jan. 30, 2015 son of Barstow Cash. This bull has a weaning ratio of 123 and EPDs of CED 10, BW 0.7, WW 72, Milk 22, YW 131. Urlacher Angus, Regent, North Dakota was the buyer at $15,500.

• Second high seller: Lot 81, Tokach Update C391, a Mar. 8, 2015 son of Tokach Update 9009 with EPDs of CED 2, BW 2.8, WW 75, Milk 22, YW 127 sold to Schmidt Angus Ranch, Solen, North Dakota for $14,500

• Third high seller; Lot 4, Tokach Cash C076, a Feb. 6, 2015 son of Barstow Cash with EPDs of CED 8, BW 1.4, WW 73, Milk 23, YW 135 went to Gerving Bros., Glen Ullin, North Dakota for $13,500

• Fourth hig seller: Lot 68, Tokach Arsenal C036, a Feb. 3, 2015 son of Connealy Arsenal 2147 had EPDs of CED 8, BW 1.4, WW 68, Milk 27, YW 121 and sold to Walker Angus, Warroad, Minnesota, for $12,000

• Fifth high seller: Lot 88, Tokach Update C421, a Feb. 13, 2015 son of Tokach Update 9009 with EPDs of CED 7, BW 1.7, WW 74, Milk 24, YW 128 sold to Bodvig Stock Farm, Tappen, North Dakota for $10,000.

• High selling bred heifer Topping the registered bred heifers was lot 195, Tokach Barbara 4694, a Feb. 2014 daughter of WAR Timeless 458 with EPDs of CED 3 BW 3.5 WW 64 Milk 28 YW 118. This heifer was bred to Bennett Absolute for an early June calf and sold to Tom Sachman, Chesterfield, Missouri, for $4,750.
