The Larsen Ranch from Forsyth, Mont., hosted a good crowd for their annual bull sale held at the ranch. This herd is a combination of the Jim Larsen, Tyler Larsen, and Lafe Warren families. Since this was the first time that I'd seen these cattle, I would have to say that I was very impressed by these bulls and the people behind them.
These bulls have a lot of rib in them, and they come from a cow herd that is bred to wean big calves on Eastern Montana grass. Calving ease proved to be a big trait throughout the sale.
Larsen Ranch donates a scholarship to the Forsyth FFA for their help in "setting up" and "taking down" for this sale. Larsen Ranch appreciates these students and their advisor.
The demand stayed strong throughout the sale, and this proved to be the best sale ever for this long standing firm. All 125 bulls were sold in 90 minutes.
