The Lazy J Bar Ranch Extravaganza sale was held Dec. 31, 2014 in Aberdeen, South Dakota at the Ramada Inn Hotel via video auction. The convention room was filled with cattlemen and women for a fun filled day and evening including an evening meal and dance after the sale.
The high selling open Red Angus calves were: Lot 58 – LazyJ Ms Blubonnt 4146-Y7816, going to Dykes Cattle Company, Pasco, WA for $12,250. She is an April 19, 2014 calf sired by LSF RAB Performance 2772Z and out of the Brown Ms Sequoya Y7816 dam. Lot3 – LazyJ Ms Bingo 442-534 sold to Rust Mountain View Ranch, ND and Blair’s. Ag Cattle Company, Canada for $10,900. She is a March 2014 calf sired by Pelton % IMF 48S and out of the JDRA Ms Bonus 534 dam. Lot 9 – LazyJ Ms Butterfly 402-292 sold to Rick and NaLani Dunsmore, NLC Simmental, Wessington, South Dakota for $6000. She is a February 2014 calf sired by the Performance 2772Z bull and out of a first-calf dam LazyJ Elizabeth 292-046.
The high selling Sim-Red Angus heifer was Lot 12 – KCCO MS 4211B selling to Jerry Groves of Logansport, LA for $3600. She is a February 2014 daughter sired by Mojito 503R and out of the HVR Firecracker 456E dam.
Clay Claymore of Gettysburg, South Dakota took home a fancy set of commercial Red Angus open heifers sired by Lazy J Bar Ranch herd sires.
Volume heifer buyers for the day were Greg Reynolds, Murray, KY with 6 head of Reg. Red Angus heifers, Andy Albrecht, Thurston, NE with 5 head of Reg. Red Angus heifers, Derek Aden, Farnem, NE with 4 head and Kaup Red Angus of Hoven, South Dakota.
The high selling Red Angus bull for the day was Lot 83- LazyJ Catlmans Bull 4221-289 going for $9000 to Kaup Red Angus, Hoven, South Dakota. He is a February 2014 bull sired by JDRA Vaquero 636 and the JDRA Bonnebelle 289 dam. Lot 86- LazyJ Conquest 4213-115K sold to Brady & Wendi Rinehart, Highmore, South Dakota for $8750. This February 2014 bull was sired by HXC Conquest 4405P and out of the SHHR RED Lass 115K dam. Lot 82-LazyJ Pursuance 4202-2657 sold to Damar Farms, Strum, WI for $8000. Pursuance is a February 2014 bull sired by LSF RAB Performance 2772Z and out of the famed NER Copperqueen 2657 donor. Lot 98- LazyJ Rancher 4228-289 sold to Michael & Stanley Gage, Aberdeen, South Dakota for $8000. He is a February 2014 calf sired by JDRA Vaquero 636 and the donor JDRA Bonnebelle 289 dam.
The high selling Sim-Angus bull was Lot 106 -LazyJ Mr. Upgrade B4235 selling to Scott Braun Family, Ipswich, South Dakota for $7,750. This February 2014 bull calf is sired by NLC Upgrade U8676 and out Dahls Blackbird 317 donor dam. High Selling Sim-Red Angus bull for the day went to Ethan and Eugene Emery, Frederick, South Dakota for $5000. He is a Mojito 503R sired calf out of the HVR FireCracker 456E dam.
Mike Raile, Eureka, South Dakota took home the Red Angus herd bull that was offered. He was Lot 80- OHRR 58R Gold Trust 39X.
Volume bull buyers for the day include Mike Raile, Eureka, South Dakota, Dean Townsend, Andover, South Dakota; Michael and Stanley Gage, Aberdeen, South Dakota; Brady Rinehart, Highmore, South Dakota and Troy Ramsey Family, Harrold, South Dakota. We are truly blessed with awesome repeat bull customers. All but six head of bulls sold within 95 miles of home and the majority of them within 60 miles from home. Our other 6 head of bulls found homes at new customers from South Dakota, ND, IA, WI, NE and TX.
High selling show steer prospect was Lot 64B selling to the Jeff Vanderwal Family, Brentford, South Dakota for $3400. He is sired by LazyJ High Voltage 003 and out of a Tyson x Dr. Who dam. Lot 64 C sired by JDRA Mojito 753 found a new home with the Adam Hartley Family, Henry, South Dakota. The market heifer prospect was purchased by the Jeremy Rawden Family, Mina, South Dakota.
