Mike and Jodie Lehrkamp and family presented held their 42nd Annual Lehrkamp Livestock production sale at the ranch east of Caputa, South Dakota on Apr. 12, 2015. There was a really nice crowd of buyers on hand that braved the windy blustery day to attend the sale.

These bulls were in great working condition, they were carrying a little more flesh then past years, but definitely not over conditioned. They had been fed and developed to handle any environment. These bulls were deep-made with natural thickness and great dispositions. There was a mix of sires in the offering, giving buyers plenty of options from calving ease to growth.

Topping the sale at $6,000 each were two Sept. 2013 calving ease sons of Buford Onward X68. Lot 3185, LL Onward 3185 is a big, powerful bull that had a weaning wt. of 749 pounds and epds of CED 9 BW 1.2 WW 41 YW 77 Milk 21. Lot 318, LL Onward 3187 had a weaning wt. of 761 pounds and epds of CED 9 BW .5 WW 51 YW 89 Milk 20. Both bulls sold to Solberg Farms, Highmore, South Dakota.

Solberg Farms also got lot 421, LL Pendleton 421, a Feb. 2014 son of DB Pendleton 021 at $5750. This bull weaned off at 609 pounds and has epds of CED 12 BW -.8 WW 44 YW 80 Milk 27.

Lot 450, LL Warrant 450, a Mar. 2014 son of Buford Warrant with epds of CED 12 BW -.9 WW 51 YW 94 Milk 24 sold to Bev Taylor, New Underwood, South Dakota for $5,750.

Also selling at $5,750 was lot 472, LL Onward 472, a Mar. 2014 son of Buford Onward X68 with epds of CED 13 BW -1.4 WW 49 YW 87 Milk 24 this bull has a weaning ratio of 114 and sold to longtime repeat buyer, Ron Kleinsasser, Caputa, South Dakota.

The top selling open heifer on the sale was LL Ms. Wilson 471, a Mar. 2014 daughter of Deep Creek Wilson 201 that has epds of CED 6 BW .8 WW 40 YW 64 Milk 20. Repeat heifer buyer Baxter Bolden, Buffalo Gap, South Dakota was the buyer at $2,250.
