The bulls were in fine sale condition at St. Onge Livestock for the Lewis Bros. Angus Annual Bull Sale. Some of the top sires in the breed were used to create some of the top herd bull prospects across the country. These bulls were definitely easy fleshing and will pack the pounds on the bottom line to any operation. Once again these bulls were in high demand with a full crowd and some active online bidding. There was a fancy set of commercial heifers that averaged $1,719. Here is the top end of the bulls:
Lot 1, DL High Regard 45, topped the sale for $19,000 heading home with Mangen Angus of Broadus, Montana. This KG High Regard 2073 son posted EPDs of BW -1.6, WW 61, YW 106, and Milk 24. He was born Jan. 1, 2015 at 64 pounds and was 847 pounds on his Adj. 205.
Lot 54, DL Resource 485, sold to Green Mountain Angus of Ryegate, Montana, for $15,000. This SAV Resource 1441 son proved his worth with EPDs of BW 4.3, WW 60, YW 117, and Milk 27. He was born Jan. 11, 2015 at 84 pounds and was 875 pounds on the Adj. 205.
Lot 94, DL Resource 2524, topped the 2-year-olds for $15,000 with Gary Romey of Hot Springs, South Dakota. Sired by SAV Resource 1441 this bull was born August, 2014, at 84 pounds and was 719 pounds on the Adj. 205. His EPDs are BW 2.8, WW 55, YW 109, and Milk 29.
Lot 56, DL Resource 565, also sold to Gary Romey of Hot Springs, South Dakota for $14,500. Also sired by SAV Resource 1441, this bull posted EPDs of BW 3.7, WW 69, YW 119, and Milk 27. He was born Jan. 12, 2015, at 86 pounds and was 894 pounds on his Adj. 205.
Lot 92, DL Resource 2474, another 2-year-old making a mark at $13,000 to Bruce Jensen of Owanka, South Dakota. Sired by the ever-popular Resource bull, this boy recorded EPDs of BW 3.1, WW 60, YW 116, and Milk 27. He was born August of 2014 at 70 pounds and was 768 pounds on his Adj. 205.
