It was a good day at the Sioux Falls Regional Livestock in Worthing, South Dakota for the 9th Annual Peterson Angus bull and female sale February 28, 2015. The weather was chilly with sunshine and the cattle were to say the least, outstanding. Another impressive set of bulls and females were offered and it was no secret as buyers got in on the action from multiple states. Peterson Angus is good at what it does and that’s offering registered Angus cattle that will not only profit your operation but also improve herd quality from the pasture to the dinner plate. There was an offering of females and the high selling replacement heifer out of PA Fortitude 2500 sold for $6500 while the highest bred cow sold for $5500. The cow was a 2008 daughter of GAR New Design 5050 and had given birth before the sale to a bull calf. Here is the cream off the top of the bull offering:
Topping the sale at $24000 was Lot 5, PA Power Tool B1456, and a calving ease son of PA Power Tool 9108. Purchased by the Lylester Ranch of Marteu, NE, this bull has EPDs of BW 1.7, WW 72, YW 118, and Milk 49. He was born 2/2/14 weighing 88 lbs and has a booming 205 weight of 951 lbs. This flush bull was the top 1% of the breed in WW, YW, $W, and $B.
Keeping the momentum was Lot 34, PA Fotified B1070, who sold to Kory Ostrand of Mason City, NE for $21,000. This PA Fortitude 2500 son has an actual birth weight of 93 lbs on 1/13/14 and ha 205 weight of 925 lbs. His EPDs are BW 0.6, WW 63, YW 111, and Milk 32.
Lot 18 made his claim topping out at $20000 to the Riverbend Ranch of Idaho Falls, ID. PA Record Harvest B1059 is out of yet another Peterson herd sire PA Safeguard 021 and was born 1/7/2014 weighing 86 lbs and had a 205 weight of 919 lbs. He posted EPDs of BW 0.6, WW 58, YW 108, and Milk 34.
Lot 1, PA Steadfast B1280, sold for $17000 to Garrett Wood of Burlington Junction, MO. This PA Power Tool 9108 son has EPDs of BW 2.1, WW 65, YW 114, and Milk 40. He was born 12/2/14 weighing 77 lbs and has a 205 weight 880 lbs.
Lot 37, PA Fortify B1040, made his mark selling for $13000 to Blakeman Cattle out of Merna, NE. This PA Fortitude 2500 son has EPDs of BW -2.1, WW 63, YW 109, and Milk 28. He was born 12/31/14 weighing 58 lbs and had a 205 weight of 856 lbs.
Lot 35, PA Fortitude B1062, another Fortitude 2500 son sold to Leader Angus of Croften, Nebraska for $11000. He has EPDs of BW 0.1, WW 55, YW 103, and Milk 31 while born 1/6/14 he weighed 84 lbs and has a 205 weight 885 lbs.
