Pieper Red Angus Ranch produced another outstanding set of Red Angus cattle for their annual fall sale.

Mark, Deb and Tate Pieper have built this herd into one of the premier herds of Red Angus cattle in America. When you see good Red Angus cattle around the country, quite often they will have the PIE prefix in their pedigree. They offer a quality cross section of livestock on this sale – from bulls and registered Red Angus females to an outstanding set of commercial Red Angus bred heifers. Another highlight of the day is the production sale of their quarter horses with broke geldings and their colt crop.

The 18-month-old bulls were big and stout, packed full of muscle and carcass quality. Most of these bulls were sold to repeat buyers.

Again these commercial bred heifers were a highlight, and sold across the country at an average of $1,783.

Piepers also offered a tremendous set of registered cows, with many of them being of very favorable age. This sale was very competitive, with people on the seats, as well as those bidding over the internet.

The sale concluded with their fall horse sale with the 2016 crop of foals averaging $1,755.

The top selling bull of the day was Lot 2, selling for $12,500 to Accelerated Genetics from Baraboo, Wisconsin. He was PIE Sandhills 5500, a three star calving ease son of LSF Sandhills 9008W, and out of a daughter of Red Crowfoot Ole’s Oscar.
