There was a great turnout at the Stevenson’s Diamond Dot Angus ranch near Hobson, Montana. Just about every class of cattle was offered and highly sought after.

Like always the cattle represented balance and functionality that can be taken home and put to work. It made a big impact seeing the bulls and females distributed all across the country and shows the trust and respect for the Diamond Dot cattle.

Auctioneers Joe Goggins and Roger Jacobs kept the pace at rapid fire. Here’s the top end after the smoke settled. Making his presence known by selling for $47,500 was Lot 16, Diamond Payweight 704C, purchased by Sitz Angus of Harrison, Montana and Getzwiller of Sonoita, Arizona. This Basin Payweight 107s son was born Jan. 26, 2015 and has EPDs that include BW -1.1, WW 71, YW 121, and Milk 26.

Selling for $35,000 Lot 1, Diamond In The Rough 0C94, got the attention and winning bid of Spear U Angus of Wall, South Dakota and Joseph Angus of Winner, South Dakota. Sired by Diamond In The Rough and born Jan. 24, 2015 weighing 95 pounds. He weaned off at 935 pounds and has EPDs of BW 0.8, WW 74, YW 117, and Milk 30.

Also selling for $35,000 was Lot 251, Diamond In The Rough 797B, to Jensen Angus of Boulder, Wyoming. Born Aug. 25, 2014 this son of Diamond In The Rough posted EPDs of BW 2.1, WW 71, YW 131, and Milk 33.

Hughes 2Y of Dillon, Montana, purchased Lot 26, Diamond Calvalry 239C, for $27,500. This JVC Calvary V3326 son was born March 8, 2015, weighing 83 pounds and weaned off at 768 pounds. His EPDs include BW -1.2, WW 81, YW 128, and Milk 29.

Lot 252, Diamond In The Rough 83B5, sold to Steed Angus of Plymouth, Utah for $25,000. A flush brother to Lot 251 this son of Diamond In The Rough put up EPDs of BW 3.2, WW 67, YW 128, and Milk 33.

Lot 17, Diamond Payweight C118, was sold to Bethany Ridge Farms of Oak Harbor, Washington $21,000. This is a full flush brother to high seller Lot 16, again a son of Basin Payweight 107s that weaned off at 775 pounds. His EPDs include BW 1.7, WW 72, YW 123, and Milk 25.
