Bob Stiles and son Chris and daughter-in-law Erica once again showed fantastic hospitality on a beautiful day. This family has done an outstanding job of breeding cattle with growth, performance with added eye appeal. The bulls were fed just right to provide adequate growth but they were not fat.
It is no secret in this industry that the Stiles family had produced a bull that had people buzzing. Stiles Cashed In, and embryo transfer calf, had been crowned the Winter Bull Calf Champion in Denver. This bull had created as much excitement as any bull that sold in the upper Midwest all spring. There were interested partnerships forming clear up until sale time. This bull had garnered attention him from all over the country. When the dust settled and the smoke cleared, this big guy did not disappoint.
Stiles Cashed In – $235,000 for two-thirds interest, to Krebs Ranch, Gordon, Nebraska, Cash investors, Rushville Nebraska, Mettler Angus, Canton, South Dakota, Thomas Ranch, Harrold, South Dakota, Chestnut Angus, Pipestone, Minnesota. This show-stopper was sired by Barstow Cash and out of a full sister to Lut. Actual data – BW 78 pounds, WW 836 pounds, YW 1,545; EPDs 1.6 BW , 74 WW, 122 YW, 29 Milk. Remember this guy's name, he will be a bull that will make an impact on the industry for years to come.
Lot 5 – $14,500 to Chuck Kessler, Wetonka, South Dakota. A Barstow Cash son, out of a Bismarck female. He posted an 821 pound WW, 1,459 pound YW; EPDs – 2.1 BW, WW 71, YW 127, Milk 28. He posted an impressive weaning ratio of 114, yearling ratio of 112 and went to a solid commercial outfit.
Lot 63- $13,500 to Steven Lorenzen, Christman, Illinois. He was a Cherry Creek Lineup son out of an Aberdeen female. This calving ease prospect showed these EPDs – .7 BW, 54 WW, 95 YW, Milk 29 and ratioed 107 at weaning.
Lot 38 – $12,500 to Don and Theresa Greise, Aberdeen, South Dakota. A son of Moore Substance, and out of a Stiles Upgrade –sired dam, he came in with an 84 pound birthweight and an, 886 pound yearling weight, then finished up with a 1,464 pound yearling weight.
High selling female
Lot 76, $6,500 to Al Bruhn, Mapleton, Iowa. This ET calf was a Harvester daughter out of a full sister to Lut, making her a half sister to high selling bull.
